Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead HVAC and plumbing design projects across sectors including education, government, transit, water/wastewater, and aviation. This role blends hands-on technical design with high-level project management, offering leadership opportunities in a collaborative, quality-focused engineering consultancy.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead HVAC and plumbing system design with full code compliance

  • Conduct HVAC load studies, energy modelling, and field investigations

  • Approve mechanical design drawings, specs, and technical documentation

  • Coordinate with internal teams, subconsultants, and multidisciplinary staff

  • Manage project lifecycle: planning, budgeting, client communication, and reporting

  • Oversee scheduling, manpower planning, and quality control

  • Participate in business development, proposals, and client presentations

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and project staff

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering (ABET-accredited)

  • 12+ years of experience in mechanical engineering

  • Proven expertise in HVAC and plumbing design and specification

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and load simulation software (IESVE, Carrier HAP)

  • Strong understanding of mechanical/plumbing codes and energy regulations

  • Must pass a Motor Vehicle screening


Preferred Qualifications
  • Commissioning certification (CxA, BCxP)

  • Project management certifications (CAPM or PMP)

  • Familiarity with Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, or P3 delivery

  • Experience with government or public sector clients

  • Fire protection or industrial mechanical design background

  • Experience managing multi-discipline teams


Working Conditions
  • 95% office-based with occasional field visits
