About the Team:
The Polling Team specializes in survey data collection to provide strategic advice to clients. Working closely with client teams and data scientists, the team designs and implements survey programs that power analysis and messaging recommendations. The focus is on understanding what motivates people to vote, purchase a product, hold an opinion, and determining whether campaigns are successful.
Operating in a fast-paced, impact-oriented environment, this collaborative team engages across departments to support client objectives. The team excels at defining complex challenges, creatively sourcing data, and driving progress every day, working in changing, ambiguous environments and addressing some of the most challenging issues facing the survey research industry today.
About the Role:
The Polling Manager will be responsible for preparing and programming survey questionnaires, constructing samples, computing survey weights, analysing results, and translating insights for clients and projects. The ideal candidate has a passion for collaborating across all aspects of polling to help clients better understand their audiences and needs, using data to inform decisions and strategic plans.
The Polling Manager will report to the Lead Polling Manager and work closely with the Director of Polling to continuously refine polling processes and remain current with industry innovations and challenges.
In This Position, You Will:
Work cross-functionally with project teams to design polling solutions.
Oversee the polling process end-to-end, including programming survey questionnaires, pulling samples, tracking and monitoring surveys in the field, and weighting the results.
Prepare and deliver client deliverables such as toplines and crosstabs.
Determine final results collaboratively and develop client insights in presentation materials.
Coordinate with team members on experiments, modeling, and other analytics surveys.
Collaborate with the Data Science team on polling methodology and research questions to improve operations and processes.
Work with the Director of Polling to suggest and implement polling process improvements and stay informed of innovations in the field.
Oversee relevant vendor relationships, regularly interacting with and evaluating vendors.
What We Are Seeking:
A Bachelor’s degree and a few years of experience working with survey data.
Experience in the polling field is a particularly strong advantage.
Ability to distill complex requests into essential points and identify the most relevant information quickly.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring every element of the process is completed accurately.
Capability to conduct data analysis under tight deadlines, even when the problem is unstructured or guidance is open-ended.
Experience with programming languages such as SQL, R, and/or Python.
Proficiency in manipulating data and working with spreadsheets.
Passion for harnessing data-driven solutions to improve social outcomes.
