We are looking for a strategic and technically skilled Traffic Engineering Section Lead. This leadership role involves managing complex transportation projects, driving market expansion, and mentoring a high-performing team—while maintaining strong collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Lead business development, including proposals and client engagement
Oversee design and delivery of traffic engineering projects (e.g., signals, MOT, signage, crash analysis)
Liaise with clients, contractors, agencies, and stakeholders
Mentor and supervise engineers and planners on the team
Develop and execute strategic growth plans with senior leadership
Manage project budgets, resources, and team expansion
Conduct performance evaluations and ensure quality control
Not required.
BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
10+ years of traffic engineering experience (design, planning, analysis)
PE license (South Carolina)
Working knowledge of SCDOT policies and traffic project experience
Proficiency in traffic simulation/analysis tools (Synchro, VISSIM, HCS)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
PTOE certification
Hybrid work model (mix of remote and in-office)
Occasional standing and walking in office setting
Some travel for client meetings and site visits
